How this price is calculated

Our estimate combines 3 sources: (1) the brand tier (luxury / premium / mid / basic) which sets the base price, (2) the condition multiplier (Like new = 80% / Good = 50% / etc.), and (3) the -70% rule if you provided the original retail price. Vinted buyer protection fees (~€0.70 + 5%) are added on top.

How to set the right price on Vinted in 2026

Price is the 2nd visibility factor on Vinted, right after photos. Too high: your listing gets zero favorites, and the algorithm demotes it. Too low: you lose money and attract aggressive negotiators. The right price sits in a precise range that depends on brand, category and actual condition.

Our Vinted price calculator uses a reference base built from average prices observed on the European Vinted market in 2026. For branded items, we also apply the -70% rule: an item bought new at €30 resells around €9-12 if in very good condition. This hybrid method delivers a reliable estimate in seconds.

The 4 factors that drive Vinted pricing

Here are the variables that move the recommended price up or down:

  • Brand: Petit Bateau or Sézane sell for 3 to 5 times more than equivalent unbranded items.
  • Condition: a like-new item sells 30 to 50% more than a good-condition one — honesty pays.
  • Season: a coat in November sells 50% more than in July. Post 4-6 weeks before the season.
  • Photo and description: the Vinted algorithm boosts listings that get the most favorites within 24h.

Frequently asked questions

How do you set the right price on Vinted?

To set the right price, cross-check 3 sources: the Vinted grid (60-80% of new price if like-new, 30-40% if good condition), prices of competing listings recently sold, and the -70% rule. Our calculator runs all three automatically.

Does the calculator account for Vinted fees?

Yes. Vinted charges roughly €0.70 + 5% as buyer protection fees, paid by the buyer. The seller receives 100% of the asking price. The calculator displays both amounts so you see exactly what the buyer pays and what you get.

Why is the calculator free?
